Sarmie competition winner

THE Global Table’s Samie Challenge saw  readers submitting  pictures on our Facebook page of their most delectable creations, after which the public could vote for whichever one  they thought looked the tastiest.

Following this process, we now have an overall  winner, with Melanie Harmse  of Port Elizabeth having made the winning sarmie that has earned her  a R500 meal voucher for two from John Burger, of Flava restaurant in Bain Street,  Richmond Hill.

Melanie’s  ciabatta sarmie with thinly sliced peppered ham, strips of brie interlaced with rocket and  topped with pecan nut cranberry drizzle (available from Fairview wine farm), plus  balsamic reduction for tang  – received nearly 30% of the  votes, with  Heila Basson second at 23% and  Delia Sebba third at 13%.
